How to Make Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans
To make these sugar free chocolate-covered espresso beans, you will want to start by lining a cookie sheet with parchment paper or even a mat. This is good so that your coated beans don’t stick to the pan.
Now you want to melt your chocolate down. I opted to heat the chocolate in the microwave, but you are more than welcome to reach for a double boiler if you prefer.
Add coffee beans
Spread on parchment to dry
Then you will coat the beans in the melted chocolate. Then with a fork, you will pull out the beans and shake them a little to get off any excess chocolate. Then layout on your lined cookie sheet.
Place in the fridge or overnight to let the chocolate setup. Then serve and enjoy these rich and caffeine filled beans.
How To Store Low Carb Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans
I place my beans in an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator. I find that it helps keep the chocolate hardened nicely. If it is hot you don’t want to leave them set out on the counter as they can melt and stick together.

Generally, you don’t want to go over 400 mg of caffeine in the day. I don’t recommend needing that range of caffeine for the day. But to equal that amount of caffeine this would range anywhere 40-80 chocolate coffee beans depending on how much caffeine are in your beans.
Can You Freeze Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans
If you freeze the coffee beans with chocolate you will find that condensation can build up once they begin to thaw. The flavor will be slightly different and the texture can change in the bean a bit. So feel free to freeze in an airtight container if you would like.

- Set the chocolate-coated coffee beans on the parchment paper and repeat with all beans
- Place the chocolate covered coffee beans in the fridge to set for at least an hour (or overnight)
- When completely dry, move to an airtight container or enjoy immediately
