Spiced Sweet Potato Recipe

A simple but savory side dish. Cumin and chili powder add just the right touch of spice to these sweet potatoes.

  • 2 Medium Sweet Potatoes washed thoroughly
  • ¼ Cup Liquid Egg Whites
  • 1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ Teaspoon Pepper


  • Preheat the oven to 425.
  • Slice the sweet potatoes into thin rounds (you can peel them if you wish).
  • In a large gallon size Ziploc bag, mix the sliced sweet potatoes with the egg whites.
  • Pour the seasonings in, then close the bag and shake to make sure the potatoes are covered thoroughly with the mix.
  • Place in a single layer on a prepared cookie sheet (a cookie sheet sprayed lightly with coconut oil, or use a Silicone Mat).
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then serve.


A medium sweet potato is about 2 inches in diameter and about 5 inches long. (That is the measurement I used to calculate nutritional information.)
