Preheat oven to 325.
Make Sweetened Condensed Milk and allow to cool completely.
Add vanilla, unsweetened coconut, almonds, and chocolate chips to the cooled condensed milk and stir until combined.
Press coconut mixture into a parchment lined 8x8 dish.
With your fingers or the back of a spatula, press bars down slightly.
Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until edges are turning golden brown.
Remove from oven and let bars cool completely. When cool enough, place pan in freezer until very firm. (This makes it much easier to slice into bars.)
Makes approximately 16 bars.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator or freezer.
