Wintertime calls for specialty hot drinks. I have several hot chocolate recipes on my blog, including this Protein Hot Chocolate Mix and this Secret Ingredient Hot Chocolate.

Please check out my video below to see just how easy this 2 Minute Hot Chocolate is to make!

While I love both of those recipes, I wanted something a bit easier. I know a lot of my readers have been asking for simple, quick, and easy recipes. When I get a craving for hot chocolate, I don’t necessarily want to pull out a blender or make up a powdered mix.

This 2 Minute Hot Chocolate recipe is the perfect solution! This is so easy to mix up when you come in from the cold, or in the evening when you want something warm and comforting to drink.

2 Minute Hot Chocolate (THM-FP, Low Carb, Sugar Free) #trimhealthymama #thm #hotcocoa #hotchocolate #sugarfree #lowcarb #fp #thmfp #fuelpull #thmdrink

Maybe I’m the only one, but there is something comforting about a warm mug of hot chocolate or coffee in the evening. It fills my tummy and warms me from the inside out.

Without the added whipped cream, this recipe is a Fuel Pull. (If you are unfamiliar with Trim Healthy Mama Plan, that simply means this recipe does not have a significant source of carbs or fat.)

The fact that this 2 Minute Hot Chocolate is a Fuel Pull just sweetens the deal! You can have a cup anytime throughout the day without worrying about clashing fuels.  (Please note that adding whipped cream makes this an S, instead of FP!)

If you have a Keurig coffee maker, this 2 Minute Hot Chocolate can truly be ready in LESS than 2 Minutes! If not, it may take a bit longer if you need to boil your water.

You could easily add a scoop of Collagen to your hot chocolate to add some protein. This would not change the fuel type at all. (However, adding whipped cream DOES change the fuel type from FP to S!)

2 Minute Hot Chocolate (THM-FP, Low Carb, Sugar Free) #trimhealthymama #thm #hotcocoa #hotchocolate #sugarfree #lowcarb #fp #thmfp #fuelpull #thmdrink

10 Ounces Hot Water, just off the boil
1 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder
1 Tablespoon Gentle Sweet (or ½ Tablespoon Pyure Sweetener)
½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract (Optional)
Generous Dash Salt - important, do not omit!
1 Tablespoon Half & Half

Looks amazing, thanks! So, no half and half in the house. What’s 2nd best: cow milk from Kroger (whole and 2%), unsweetened almond milk, heavy whipping cream. .

If you want to stay in FP mode, you can use almond milk - if you don't mind it being an S you can use heavy cream. 🙂

Hi! I am brand new to THM and just tried your hot cocoa recipe. It is good, but I'm also trying to not compare to my own homemade NOT THM approved mix that I have made for years and need to not make anymore. lol. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for making your recipe creamier and thicker/richer without losing the FP status? Thanks so much!

You can use unsweetened almond milk in place of the water - that will make it more creamy. 🙂

This is the best THM on plan hot chocolate I have had! I would love measurements for a large quantity mix if available.

This is the BEST! Yum! This girl is HAPPY!! No need at all for that hot cocoa crud mix in the house. I'll teach my kids how to do it this way. Thank you so much!

This is delicious hot chocolate. I was writing down your milk shake recipes (that are going along with the current challenge) and realized it was way too cold today for milkshake. So, as my children were making themselves hot cocoa, I decided to search your site for hot chocolate. Thanks for this yummy recipe. I have part water/part almond milk in it (would have used all almond milk, but I didn't have enough). And I was out of vanilla, so I put in some caramel instead. Yum. And topped it with whipped cream with a dash of mint (my favorite way to make it)

I drink the sugar filled hot cocoa, at most, once a year and can't drink it because it's just always too sweet. Made your recipe this morning, and it is DELICIOUS! I can see myself drinking this recipe all winter long! Just found your blog a couple days ago and if this hot chocolate recipe is an indicator - can't wait to try many more of your recipes!

This is amazing with caramel extract in it as well.

Wondering if anyone has multiplied this recipe and batched it and knows how many tablespoons of mix you'd need per 10 oz of water? Obviously then you'd still have to add cream and extracts, but I'm trying to save myself time and math 😂
