This recipe works equally well for Trim Healthy Mamas, and it would fall into the (S)atisfying category for you!
KETO COFFEE CREAMER
Let’s talk about coffee, shall we? I’ll just be honest with you . . . a good cup of coffee is one of my favorite reasons for getting out of bed in the mornings! Morning coffee is the best!
I love getting up early in the morning before the rest of my family to have quiet time, and coffee is always a part of that!
WHAT CREAMER CAN YOU USE ON KETO?
Unfortunately most store-bought creamers contain added sugar, so they are a no-go when you are following a keto, low-carb, or Trim Healthy Mama diet.
However, there ARE a number of ready-made keto creamers that you can purchase either in a store or on-line!
One of the more popular keto friendly coffee creamers is NutPods - they have a number of flavors, including French Vanilla, Caramel, Hazelnut, and seasonal flavors such as Cinnamon Bun, Pumpkin Spice, and Peppermint Mocha (my fave)! Use code MY_MONTANA_KITCHEN_THM to get 15% off your first purchase - and FREE shipping!
You can also purchase Cafely's coffee creamers, which are shelf-stable . . . even AFTER it has been opened! These also come in a variety of flavors, and are perfect for traveling (just be sure to include your milk frother to easily mix in your creamer)!
Picnik is another brand of keto coffee creamer that I have enjoyed. I have ordered it from Thrive Market, and I really enjoyed it!
I have also really enjoyed the Califia Farms unsweetened creamers. Some of their creamers do have added sugar, so make sure to look for the ones that say unsweetened.
WHAT CAN I PUT IN MY COFFEE ON KETO?
There are SO many options for things you can add to your keto coffee. Butter, Coconut Oil, MCT Oil and Collagen are a few things that come immediately to mind. (Or you can add superfoods to your coffee!)
If you are used to traditional creamer in your coffee, you may enjoy a drizzle of Low Carb Sweetened Condensed Milk (for sweetness) and a splash of heavy whipping cream or half and half.
Add your favorite extracts to achieve your favorite flavor of creamer. (Here is a Keto Peppermint Mocha to get you started!)
IS CREAM KETO FRIENDLY?
Yes, heavy whipping cream is a low-to-no-carb food, and you can easily stir it in to your morning cup of coffee.
While not adding flavor per se, it does make your coffee extremely creamy!
Half-and-half has 1 gram of carbs per serving (2 Tablespoons), so it is still an option as well. I prefer half-and-half as it is much lower in calories than heavy whipping cream.
THE EARLY BULLETPROOF COFFEE
It has been several years since I first heard of the idea of “Bulletproof” coffee, or “Butter” Coffee. When I first heard of it I thought that it was a bit odd, but I was willing to give it a try. (And I loved it!)
MCT OIL IN COFFEE
Nowadays, many times MCT oil is used in place of the coconut oil originally used in Bulletproof coffee. MCT oil is all the good of coconut oil, but in a more concentrated form. I’ve heard it called “coconut oil on steroids.”
But there is a problem with MCT oil – it is MESSY! You know what I mean, you pull it out of your cupboard to drizzle a couple of teaspoons into your coffee, but before you know it there is oil all over the counter. Raise your hand if you’ve been there! Nobody has time for that when you’re making coffee!
USING MCT POWDER TO MAKE KETO CREAMER
The solution to this is MCT Oil Powder – I never even knew this was a thing until several months ago. I have tried it, and I LOVE it! Perfect Keto has several flavors of powdered MCT, including a delicious chocolate flavor, salted caramel, and of course, unflavored.
MCT is great for weight loss, as it helps to fire up your metabolism, and it is great for your brain, too! It is an amazing way to start your morning – right along with your morning cuppa joe!
I decided to create a dairy-free creamer recipe that would eliminate the need for adding oils, powders, and extras to my coffee in the morning. (Most of the time I’m barely awake, anyway, so let’s keep things simple, right?)
DAIRY FREE KETO COFFEE CREAMER
This dairy free keto coffee creamer recipe is perfect for anyone following the ketogenic diet, for busy Mamas who want a healthier cup of coffee, or for those who just enjoy a delicious cup of coffee!
I used coconut milk for this recipe to keep it dairy free, but please look further down the page to find options that do include dairy.
Coconut Milk contains naturally occurring MCT’s since it is from coconut, so it was a natural healthy choice.
COLLAGEN CREAMER
I also like to have collagen in my coffee, so I looked to Perfect Keto’s flavored Collagen powder, which is completely grass fed, and tastes amazing!
Perfect Keto’s collagen formula ALSO contains MCT powder, so it is a 2 for 1 bonus! I have been using it for months, now, and I’m absolutely in love. They have chocolate flavor, salted caramel flavor, and vanilla flavor.
I generally just add powdered collagen to my black coffee, add a bit of half and half or heavy whipping cream, and call it done. But I love the idea of having a ready-made creamer, ready just when I need it!
That is why I am so excited to bring you this easy coffee creamer. It is completely customizable to your own tastes, as well. If you prefer Salted Caramel, simply switch out the Chocolate Collagen for Salted Caramel. If you like Samoas flavor, add the Caramel with the Chocolate. If you prefer Vanilla, use the Vanilla collagen powder.
Their Flavored Collagens also make an excellent Iced Coffee (or use it to make No-Bake Collagen Fudge Bars).
And if you like super creamy coffee (and are not worried about being dairy free), feel free to add ⅓ cup of heavy cream to your creamer when blending. This will make it super creamy (but will also change the nutritional information).
DOES KETO CREAMER HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT?
There is not a definite answer for that, but the metabolism boosting MCT’s in coconut oil can rev your metabolism and help to burn fat. Also, if you use protein-packed collagen or satiating butter in your coffee, these may help you feel full for longer, thus reducing the amount of food you consume overall.

Thank you for the recipe, news about the powder, and the coupon code! I just ordered the MCT oil but am wondering what the ratio would be to substitute this in recipes that call for the liquid oil? I will be making this creamer recipe as soon as I receive my order!

I may have to try this! I tried collagen once and i could hardly stand it, even in my coffee. This sounds promising though and a healthier option than regular coffee mate. 🙂

I tried Collagen too and the heartburn killed me - but I have ordered the Keto Chocolate you suggested. I am looking forward to trying it - especially when fall arrives!
